the trail

We had a virtual trip across the world! We asked you to pick your preferred means of transport and follow us ;)

Some adventurous women shared their story of discovery of their own personal and professional journey...via land, sea and sky.

We made connections, got inspired and found travel pals for our next adventure. Someone even said this event really changed her perspective on things such as the importance of women's groups! Scroll down to see some pics :)

jo cruse

Jo Cruse is a writer, speaker and adventurer. In February 2017, she and her boyfriend Dom completed MacroAdventure, a nine-month expedition from Alaska to Argentina during which they met and shared the stories of over 70 of the Americas' most remarkable social entrepreneurs. Jo is passionate about enabling women to fulfill their highest potential and writes and speaks regularly on career change, resilience and finding purpose. She is currently writing her first novel.

adela hussain

Adela Hussain is the Founder of Style Lyrical, a fashion tech start up that offers personal styling with clothing delivery for busy women. Adela spent 13 years as a management consultant focusing on company transformations, mergers, product launches and outsourcing deals. Like many professional women, the last thing she wanted to do on her time off was shop for clothes so she set out to solve the problem. In January 2015 she embarked on a three-month Lara Croft-style adventure in Asia before settling in Bali. There she launched Style Lyrical from a bamboo office.

shona davies

Shona Davies has found that being an optimist can be hard work and sometimes the work of happiness has been too hard for her. Depression and anxiety have been near constant companions in her life and in 2015, she had a devastating breakdown.
Shona is taking part in the Clipper Round the World Yacht Race 2017/2018 as part of her journey back to health. Completing the challenge will take every ounce of physical and mental strength that she will work to achieve over the coming year. She will be aboard ship for 4-5 months travelling from Cape Town in late October 2017, via Australia and into Asia; finishing in Qingdao, China in Feb/March 2018. Shona has chosen MIND as the charity to partner with in fundraising over the next year.

fiona quinn

Fiona Quinn is an adventurer, speaker, entrepreneur and coach. In 2016 she was the first person to complete the Cam Triathlon, over 180 miles by foot, bicycle and SUP, and then went on to cycle 1000 miles, solo and unsupported, up the length of the country just eight weeks later. Now running a successful business combining start up support with adventure, she splits her time between adventures large and small, and sharing her passion for getting outside through talks, workshops and coaching. This April she will be setting off on her next adventure - to do the 1000 miles from John O'Groats to Lands End again, this time walking!

lindsey clarke

Lindsey Clarke is the Managing Director EMEA for Nativo, a successful US advertising technology firm. In 2013, she hit a painful realization that she’d climbed the ladder that she had intended to climb; yet her life lacked the soul, adventure and freedom that she longed for. She left her NYC life behind and traveled through Europe alone for 6 months. During that tour, amongst other things, she found the inner spirit she’d lost along the way. She also discovered a confidence she hadn’t even realized that she lacked. Lindsey is now a boat dwelling, career loving, humanist who is dedicated to challenging gender stereotypes and inequality, in and out of the corporate world. She pursues this mission using her voice, her mind and always with her heart. “I won’t fight other women for one of the limited seats at the table. We’ll march side by side and demand a bigger table”- Unknown.
